Stick Game, or Slahal, has been a staple of Northwest Indian gatherings for centuries. Families from far and wide exchange songs, match wits, and preserve their culture in this raucous guessing game.
“Some play stick game just to have fun, some play it cause they’ve been playing it since they were little kids. A lot of folks that I know— they continue teaching their children how to play and travel and visit different reservations. The culture has to stay alive and keep moving on.”
